channelers

Vessels for entities

Channelers are people who claim to serve as conduits for spirits, deities, or other supernatural entities, allowing these beings to speak or act through them.

The term gained currency in New Age spirituality during the 1980s, distinguishing practitioners from traditional mediums: The channeler entered a trance and began speaking in an unfamiliar voice.

Also spelled channellers.
