A channeler is someone who claims to communicate with spirits, extraterrestrial beings, or other non-physical entities, serving as a conduit for their messages.
The term emerged from New Age spirituality in the 1980s and carries connotations of mysticism or pseudoscience: The channeler claimed to be receiving wisdom from an ancient Atlantean priest.
More neutrally, channeler can describe anyone who channels something—directs or conveys it through themselves: a channeler of creative energy.
