censers

Swinging incense vessels

Censers are containers for burning incense, typically metal vessels suspended on chains that can be swung to spread fragrant smoke.

They appear most often in religious ceremonies—Catholic masses, Orthodox liturgies, Buddhist rituals: The priest swung the censer as he processed down the aisle.

The word is singular censer.
