extinguishers
Flame-killing canisters
Extinguishers are devices that put out fires, typically portable cylinders containing water, foam, or chemical agents that can be sprayed onto flames: Every office floor should have fire extinguishers.
The word can also refer more broadly to anything that extinguishes—a person who snuffs out candles, or figuratively, someone who dampens enthusiasm or hope.
