A call-in is a phone call to a radio or television program from a listener or viewer: The host took call-ins from across the country.

As an adjective, it describes programs built around such participation: a call-in show, a call-in segment.

A call-in can also be an absence reported by phone: The restaurant had three call-ins tonight.
