talkback
Impertinent verbal response
Talkback is a communication system allowing people in a control room to speak to those in a studio or on stage without the audience hearing.
In broadcasting, the director uses talkback to give instructions to on-air talent: The producer's voice came through talkback: "Wrap it up." The term also describes audience response segments on radio or television where listeners call in with opinions.
