pledge drive
Public radio fundraiser
A pledge drive is a fundraising campaign, typically by public broadcasting stations or nonprofit organizations, where listeners or viewers are asked to call in and promise donations.
During pledge drives, regular programming often pauses for extended appeals: The station interrupted the documentary for another pledge drive segment.
The term can describe any organized push for commitments, financial or otherwise.
