blastomere
Early division product
A blastomere is any of the cells produced when a fertilized egg divides in its earliest stages of development.
After fertilization, the single cell splits into two, then four, then eight blastomeres, and so on—each division producing smaller cells until they form a hollow ball.
The term appears in embryology and discussions of in vitro fertilization.
