bermudagrass
Warm-season turf
Bermudagrass is a creeping grass native to Africa, now widespread in warm climates worldwide.
It spreads aggressively through runners and underground stems, making it valued for lawns, golf courses, and pastures but difficult to eradicate where unwanted.
It thrives in heat and drought but goes dormant and brown in winter: The bermudagrass has taken over the whole yard.
Also spelled Bermuda grass.
