beer can chicken
Cavity-roasted fowl
Beer can chicken is a method of grilling or roasting a whole chicken mounted vertically on an open can of beer.
The liquid steams during cooking, supposedly keeping the meat moist while the upright position allows even browning.
The technique became a backyard barbecue staple in the 1990s: He's out back doing a beer can chicken on the grill.
