arteritis
Inflamed blood vessels
Arteritis is inflammation of the arteries.
The condition can affect arteries of various sizes throughout the body, often causing them to narrow or weaken.
Types include temporal arteritis (affecting arteries in the head) and Takayasu arteritis (affecting the aorta and its branches).
Symptoms depend on which arteries are involved but may include pain, fatigue, and reduced blood flow to affected areas.
