micra

Millionths of meters

Micra is the classical plural of micron, a unit of length equal to one millionth of a meter.

While micrometer is now the standard scientific term, micron persists in some technical contexts, and micra occasionally appears as its plural: The particles measured between two and five micra in diameter.

The anglicized plural microns is more common.
