angstroms
Subatomic distance units
Angstroms is the plural of angstrom, a unit of length equal to one ten-billionth of a meter.
The angstrom is used primarily in physics and chemistry to measure atomic and molecular scales—the wavelength of light, the size of atoms, the spacing between crystal planes.
Named for the Swedish physicist Anders Jonas Ångström.
Symbol: Å.
