Green winter squash
Acorn squash is a winter squash with deep ridges running lengthwise and dark green skin, named for its acorn-like shape.
The flesh is orange-yellow and mildly sweet.
Typically halved and roasted, often with butter and brown sugar: I stuffed the acorn squash with wild rice and sausage.
