Golden summer gourd
Yellow squash is a summer squash with bright yellow skin and mild, slightly sweet flesh.
The most common varieties are crookneck, with a curved neck, and straightneck.
Unlike winter squashes, yellow squash has tender, edible skin and is harvested young: I sautéed some yellow squash and zucchini as a side dish.
