Shetlander

North Sea native

A Shetlander is a person from the Shetland Islands, a Scottish archipelago in the North Sea.

The term applies both to natives and long-term residents of these remote islands north of mainland Scotland: Shetlanders have their own distinct dialect and traditions.

The islands are known for Shetland ponies and wool.
