Mainland

Not the islands

Mainland is the principal landmass of a country or region, as distinguished from its islands or outlying territories.

Britain is the mainland relative to Ireland; continental Europe is the mainland relative to Britain.

In the United States, the mainland excludes Hawaii and sometimes Alaska.

They flew from Honolulu to the mainland.

The term is always relative to perspective—what counts as mainland depends on where you're standing.
