Routemaster

Iconic British transport

Routemaster is a model of double-decker bus that became iconic on London streets from 1956 to 2005.

Its distinctive red color and open rear platform—allowing passengers to hop on and off—made it a symbol of the city: Tourists posed for photos beside the Routemaster.

A modernized New Routemaster was introduced in 2012.
