Rigel

Hunter's bright foot

Rigel is one of the brightest stars in the night sky, a blue supergiant marking the left foot of the constellation Orion.

The name comes from Arabic for "foot." Along with Betelgeuse, it serves as a reference point for locating other celestial objects: Rigel is easy to spot in winter.
