Arcturus

Bright northern star

Arcturus is the brightest star in the constellation Boötes and the fourth-brightest star in the night sky.

An orange giant about 37 light-years from Earth, it appears prominently in the Northern Hemisphere's spring and summer skies.

The name comes from Greek for "bear guardian," as it seems to follow Ursa Major across the sky.
