Betelgeuse

Betelgeuse is a red supergiant star in the constellation Orion, one of the brightest stars visible from Earth.
It marks Orion's left shoulder and appears distinctly reddish to the naked eye.
Astronomers watch it closely because it may explode as a supernova within the next million years—soon by cosmic standards.
