Pacific coast
California's ocean edge
The Pacific coast is any shoreline along the Pacific Ocean, the world's largest body of water.
The term describes coastal regions of continents and islands bordering this ocean: the Pacific coast of South America, Chile's Pacific coast, the Pacific coast of Japan.
When capitalized as Pacific Coast, it typically refers specifically to the western coastline of North America. (Capitalized Pacific Coast usually means the western U.S. and Canadian coastline.)
