Negev

Southern Israeli expanse

The Negev is a desert region in southern Israel, comprising more than half the country's land area.

It is characterized by arid terrain, rocky highlands, and sparse population, though kibbutzim and the city of Beersheba have developed there.

They drove south through the Negev toward Eilat.
