Namib

Southwestern African desert

The Namib is a coastal desert in southwestern Africa, stretching along the Atlantic coast through Namibia and into Angola and South Africa.

It is among the world's oldest deserts, characterized by towering red sand dunes, fog-dependent ecosystems, and extreme aridity.

The country Namibia takes its name from this desert.
