Michaelis-Menten
Saturation curve model
Michaelis-Menten describes a model of enzyme kinetics—the study of how fast enzymes catalyze biochemical reactions.
The Michaelis-Menten equation relates reaction rate to substrate concentration, showing that rate increases with substrate until the enzyme becomes saturated.
Two key parameters emerge: Km (the substrate concentration at half-maximum velocity) and Vmax (maximum reaction rate).
The drug's metabolism follows Michaelis-Menten kinetics.
