initial velocity
Launch speed measure
Initial velocity is the speed and direction of an object at the moment measurement begins—the starting point for calculating motion.
In physics problems, it's the velocity before forces like gravity or friction take effect: The projectile had an initial velocity of 50 meters per second.
Often written as v₀ or vᵢ in equations.
