SN1
Slow ionization first
SN1 is a type of chemical reaction in organic chemistry—a substitution nucleophilic unimolecular reaction.
The mechanism proceeds in two steps: first the leaving group departs, forming a carbocation intermediate, then a nucleophile attacks.
The "1" indicates that only one molecule's concentration affects the reaction rate.
SN1 reactions favor tertiary substrates and polar protic solvents.
