MLG
Ironic gaming boast
MLG stands for Major League Gaming, a professional esports organization founded in 2002 that helped legitimize competitive video gaming as a spectator sport.
In internet slang, MLG became shorthand for anything showcasing extreme skill or, more often, mocking try-hard gaming culture through ironic exaggeration.
The term spawned a meme genre featuring dubstep, airhorns, and Doritos imagery layered over gameplay clips.
That 360 no-scope was so MLG.
