Unranked describes something not assigned a position in a ranking system.
In sports, an unranked team hasn't earned enough standing to appear in official rankings: They upset the number-one seed despite being unranked.
In gaming, unranked matches are casual play that doesn't affect a player's competitive rating.
The word also applies to military personnel without official rank.
