airhorn

Canister of noise

An airhorn is a loud signaling device that produces a blast of sound by forcing compressed air through a horn.

Originally used on boats and at sporting events, airhorns have become props for pranks and memes: He set off an airhorn right behind me.

The word also describes the signature sound itself, often used as an audio effect to punctuate moments of triumph or hype in videos and music.
