Highland cattle
Long-haired Scottish cows
Highland cattle are a Scottish breed of cattle with long, shaggy coats and wide, curved horns.
The distinctive reddish-brown hair and fringe covering their eyes help them survive harsh winters in the Scottish Highlands.
They're raised for beef but have become popular as novelties on hobby farms: We stopped to photograph the Highland cattle along the road.
