Kodiak Island
Large Alaskan island
Kodiak Island is the largest island in the Kodiak Archipelago, off the southern coast of Alaska.
It's the second-largest island in the United States after Hawaii's Big Island.
The island is known for the Kodiak bear, a subspecies of brown bear and one of the largest land carnivores: We spotted several Kodiak bears fishing for salmon.
