Isabel Allende

Isabel Allende is a Chilean-American novelist known for magical realism and multigenerational family sagas.

Her debut *The House of the Spirits* (1982) established her international reputation.

Much of her work draws on Latin American history, feminism, and her own family's experiences, including her father's cousin Salvador Allende, Chile's deposed president: I've read every Isabel Allende novel.
