Indian reserve
First Nations land
An Indian reserve is land set aside by the Canadian government for the use of a First Nations band.
The term is the Canadian equivalent of "reservation" in U.S. usage: The community has lived on the reserve for generations.
Reserve lands are held in trust by the Crown and governed under the Indian Act.
