reservations

Doubts or bookings

Reservations are doubts or misgivings that hold you back from full commitment: I have reservations about the plan.

The word also means arrangements to hold something in advance—a table at a restaurant, a hotel room, a seat on a flight: Do you have a reservation?

In North American history, a reservation is land set aside for Indigenous peoples, often through forced relocation.

The singular reservation covers all these uses; the plural simply indicates multiple instances.
