Grinch

Festive fun ruiner

The Grinch is a green, furry creature from Dr.

Seuss's 1966 story "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," who attempts to ruin Christmas for the residents of Whoville before having a change of heart.

The character has become a cultural icon representing holiday cynicism and redemption: He's acting like the Grinch this year. (Lowercase grinch is any killjoy or spoilsport.)
