Whole milk is milk that retains its full fat content, as opposed to skim or reduced-fat varieties.
In the United States, whole milk contains about 3.25% milkfat.
The term distinguishes unmodified milk from versions where fat has been removed: I switched back to whole milk for the richer taste.
