Garibaldi
Redshirts' famous leader
Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian general and nationalist who played a central role in unifying Italy in the 19th century.
His red-shirted volunteers became legendary, and his name passed into English attached to clothing, food, and a fish species that share the distinctive red-orange color associated with his forces. (Lowercase garibaldi refers to a blouse, biscuit, or fish.)
