non-volatile
Keeps data stored
Non-volatile describes something that doesn't evaporate readily or lose its contents when power is removed.
In chemistry, a non-volatile substance has low vapor pressure and remains stable at room temperature.
In computing, non-volatile memory retains stored data even when the device is turned off: The settings are saved to non-volatile storage.
