Corleone

Sicilian town, surname

Corleone is a town in Sicily, but in English it functions almost exclusively as a reference to *The Godfather*—the fictional mafia family in Mario Puzo's novel and Francis Ford Coppola's films.

To call someone a Corleone or compare a family to the Corleones suggests organized crime, ruthless loyalty, or dynastic power: The political family operated like the Corleones.
