Coriolanus

Banished Roman warrior

Coriolanus is the title character of a Shakespeare tragedy—a Roman general whose pride and contempt for the common people lead to his downfall.

The name comes from Gaius Marcius Coriolanus, a possibly legendary figure from early Roman history who earned his surname after capturing the Volscian city of Corioli.

The play explores themes of class conflict, political manipulation, and the tension between personal honor and public duty.
