Regulus

Leo's alpha star

Regulus is the brightest star in the constellation Leo, one of the brightest stars in the night sky.

The name means "little king" in Latin, fitting for the heart of the Lion.

Regulus is also a Roman given name, most famously borne by Marcus Atilius Regulus, a consul during the First Punic War whose story of self-sacrifice became legendary. (Lowercase regulus is a metallurgical term.)
