Corinthian order

Ornate Greek architecture

The Corinthian order is the most ornate of the three classical Greek architectural styles, distinguished by tall columns topped with capitals decorated with acanthus leaves and scrolls.

It became the favored order of Roman architecture and appears on grand public buildings: The Supreme Court building features Corinthian columns.

The simpler orders are Doric and Ionic.
