Ionic order
Scrolled Greek columns
The Ionic order is one of three classical Greek architectural styles, distinguished by its slender columns and scroll-shaped volutes on the capitals.
More ornate than the Doric order but less elaborate than the Corinthian, Ionic columns typically have fluted shafts and rest on decorative bases: The temple's Ionic columns gave it an elegant, refined appearance.
