Chinese jump rope
Ankle-height elastic game
Chinese jump rope is a children's game played with a long loop of elastic stretched around the ankles of two players while a third jumps in, out, and on the bands in increasingly complex patterns.
As players succeed, the elastic rises to knees, then thighs, making the jumps more difficult.
Despite the name, versions of the game exist worldwide: We played Chinese jump rope at recess every day.
