C-channel
Structural metal section
A C-channel is a structural metal beam with a cross-section shaped like the letter C—a flat back with two flanges projecting from it at right angles.
Used in construction, framing, and manufacturing where strength and a mounting surface are needed: We bolted the equipment to a C-channel.
Also called channel iron or simply channel.
