moon dust
Apollo bootprint medium
Moon dust is the fine, powdery material covering the lunar surface, composed of tiny rock fragments, mineral grains, and glass particles created by billions of years of meteorite impacts.
Scientists call it regolith.
The term appears in space exploration contexts and sometimes figuratively for anything rare or otherworldly: Finding that vintage record was like searching for moon dust.
