Anglos

English-descent Americans informally

Anglos are English-speaking white people, especially in contexts where they're distinguished from other ethnic groups.

In the American Southwest, Anglos are non-Hispanic whites: The neighborhood was mixed—Anglos, Latinos, and a few Asian families.

In Quebec, Anglo refers to English-speaking Canadians as distinct from Francophones.

The term can carry mild tension when used to mark cultural boundaries.
