1985
Reagan's second term
1985 is a year in the twentieth century, specifically the mid-1980s.
When used attributively or in titles, it often evokes Cold War tensions, emerging digital culture, or Reagan-era America: The 1985 Bears were dominant.
In George Orwell's novel, the title *Nineteen Eighty-Four* made the mid-eighties symbolically charged—1985 became "the year after Big Brother."
