youth teams
Kids' sports groups
Youth teams are sports teams composed of young players, typically children or teenagers, organized by age group within a club or league system.
The term appears most often in soccer and other European sports, where youth teams serve as developmental pathways to professional play: He came up through the club's youth teams before joining the first team.
In American contexts, the equivalent might be called junior varsity, minor leagues, or farm teams depending on the sport.
